Track-laying has commenced on the extension of the Luas Red Line from Citywest to Saggart which will be completed and in operation in early 2011.

The €150 million project is a partnership involving the Railway Procurement Agency, Davy-Hickey Properties, Harcourt Developments and the Mansfield Group. An extra four million passenger journeys per year are estimated once the extension to Saggart opens
